Key Resources-

To my surprise there is very little true knowledge and experience regarding shipping container housing and construction in the
United States. There are a few architects and hopeful design concepts but all seem to be relying on the "real life" experience
of the developers in the UK and the Netherlands.

Artists, Architects, Structural Engineers, Developers, ISBU manufacturers-
Market research and product research has been my profession for many years and as much as I wanted and expected the
U.S. to be the leader in shipping container housing, the reality is much different. And when it comes to product development
and actual production of a product I prefer to speak to the people who actually build rather than the people who simply have
design ideas. They are usually two worlds apart.

I see one Architect/Artist in the U.S. and eventhough his work is interesting the reality is, they are are more art work than viable
building projects. I have already had much contact and conversation with companies and groups listed below. These groups
are light years ahead of any other ISBU construction projects or project developers. I'm not so keen on their designs but designs
are the easiest solution, structural and construction information is the hard part.

Here are the most credible resources I've chosen to contact and will rely on for 90% of my research information. This I will name
my Tier-1 group:

Tier-1 Resource Group

  Boru Happold- UK, Globally
These are the structural engineers who are the key resource for maybe 90% of all new and recycled ISBU projects globally.
They are the knowledge behind Container City, Urban Space Management, Nomad Museum, Verbus Systems, etc.

  Urban Space Management- UK
Container City and many other projects in the UK

  Tempo Housing- Netherlands, China
Recyclable ISBU housing Keetwonen student housing, and much more in Amsterdam and Europe

  Nicholas, Lacey, Partners
The architects for Container City and Trinity Buoy Wharf in 1998

  Verbus- UK, China
Numerous prefab shipping container structures in the UK

  Various ISO Container factories- China
The largest and most experienced manufacturers of ISO shipping containers globally. They are a wealth of technical information,
also for repair parts and engineering consultation to the UK companies listed above and all the major shipping lines globally.
I was surprised to learn they are a great resource for assisting the U.S. and Australia container companies to recycle ISBU also.

All the above companies have been very helpful in my research. I have met with many of them personally as well as ongoing email
communications. I've also contacted a few of the companies in the U.S. whom I see promoting ISBU designs. I realize their actual
experience is limited but most also seem too busy on unrelated projects. This has been a very different friendly and professional
attitude from the UK , Netherlands and China groups. They have been very open and professional with me.

At this time I believe the only wise choice for accurate information is for me is focus on the actual project contractors, structural
engineers, and factories for the most accurate information. I think architectural designs should be based on structural engineering
not simply inspiring art work.

Eco insulations- Regarding my interest in the Ceramic Insulation coatings, I'm surprised to see these builders in UK, Europe and
the Middle-east are quitr knowledgeable on it's use and efficiency. I'm especially impressed since the technology was a spin off
from America's NASA research projects.

These UK companies have also guided me somewhat on the Eco foam spray insulations which I plan to investigate more carefully.

Tier-2 Resource Group-

This group will still not be architects unless they have actually designed and built one or more projects. Even in the architectural
communities they refer to mountains of renderings and drawings as "Papar Architects". These are easily drawn, enjoyable to look
at but usually not feasible or realistic to build from since they are not designed on a true structural engineering platform. I very much
enjoy inspiration and ideas, but they can often lead you down a wrong path and conclusion.

The UK architects I've interviewed tell me that Paper Architects are a dime a dozen and often not so realistic in their concepts.

My Tier-2 Group of Resources will be interviews and information resources will be made of shipping container Dealers who actually
repair, cut and modify the ISBU to make mobile offices and worker cabins. This will put me one step closer to my total home
construction projects and I will graually link all the information together.
Shipping container home information and ISBU information.
